Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on PlayStation 5 on November 19, with pre-downloading beginning November 10 for eligible players. The company said players should complete their PlayStation account setup ahead of the pre-load window, though one report also claimed regional timing details and file size were published while another said only that pre-installation is available to those who pre-ordered. Notably, some reports mentioned an official file size reveal and regional timings, while others did not; the announcement referenced only the PS5 version, with no mention of Xbox or PC releases.

Microsoft has created an alligator-themed Xbox promotion after failing to secure a marketing partnership for Grand Theft Auto 6 that Sony obtained, though reports differ on whether the console is a custom-designed unit or physically placed inside a taxidermied alligator in Florida. Sony's official co-marketing arrangement with Rockstar for the upcoming game is confirmed. The stunt's connection to GTA 6's rumored Vice City setting is claimed but unverified by Microsoft.
