GTA 6 Dual Protagonist System Detailed in New Preview

A fresh preview of Grand Theft Auto VI reveals that players will control two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, who are confirmed to be a romantic couple. Players can switch between the two characters seamlessly without loading screens, operating them together or independently for different gameplay experiences. The couple dynamic is integrated into both the narrative and open-world mechanics, representing an evolution from GTA V's three-character system. One report describes the preview as emerging ahead of a planned Netflix extended reveal, while another attributes the details to a Dazed magazine interview with Rockstar developers; the exact source or timing of the footage is not fully consistent across accounts. Enhanced environmental details and more reactive NPC behavior were also shown.
